From waste to (more than) fillers: Resilco’s process

Logo From waste to (more than) fillers: Resilco’s process

In a world where large volumes of industrial waste— such as fly ash from waste-to-energy plants, ladle furnace slags, or flue gas residues — is still landfilled, Resilco takes a different path: recovering, stabilising, and re-introducing these materials into the value chain while permanently storing CO₂ within them.

At the heart of Resilco’s solution lies a proprietary accelerated carbonation process, which mineralises captured CO₂ within alkaline waste streams. The process not only stabilises the waste but converts it into carbonated fillers that can replace virgin raw materials in construction and bitumen products.

The outcome is tangible: fewer emissions, less landfilling, and reduced extraction of natural resources — a model that delivers environmental, economic, and industrial benefits at once.

Supporting a low-carbon construction sector

The construction industry accounts for around 8% of global CO₂ emissions and transforming it is essential. Resilco actively supports this transition by enabling the use of low-carbon binders — such as slags, calcined clays, and fly ash — and by promoting the responsible treatment of industrial waste.

In 2025, the company secured a €5 million Series A investment to scale its technology and build its first industrial plant, paving the way for wider commercial deployment and measurable climate impact.

Why Resilco

  • Integrated solution: turning waste recovery into the production of high-value secondary materials.
  • Environmental efficiency: permanent CO₂ storage, reduced disposal, and lower resource extraction.
  • Scalable innovation: industrial implementation planned for 2027.
  • Circular commitment: partnering with industries to redesign material flows and promote climate-positive solutions.

Let’s build a circular future

Resilco believes that what was once considered waste can become a cornerstone of sustainable growth. If you share our vision of a circular, low carbon built environment, join us in rethinking materials, processes, and partnerships for a more resilient planet.

At Resilco, we turn waste into opportunity, transforming alkaline residues into low-carbon materials for a circular and climate-positive construction sector. Joining the Alliance for Low-Carbon Cement & Concrete reflects our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the decarbonisation of the built environment.
