Read on to learn how one of the ALCCC members, Hoffman Green Cement Technologies, are working to make a difference!

Hoffman Green Cement has industrialised a genuine technological breakthrough based on alterations to cement’s composition and the creation of a heating-free, clinker-free and low energy consumption manufacturing process making it a leading and unique player on a cement market that has not undergone any significant changes in the last 200 years.

Innovative technologies to protect our planet

Hoffmann Green’s purpose is to act on the climate and the environment in a different way and right now, by designing and producing decarbonated cements 0% clinker. Thanks to their innovative technological solutions, construction players will be able to significantly reduce their carbon footprint with eco-friendly concrete to create the sustainable cities of tomorrow.

The manufacturing process of Hoffmann cements promotes the circular economy by using local resources and co-products from the industry, thus preserving natural resources.

A paradigm shift for the sector

The industrial project that we they are carrying out is renewing with a “new generation” entrepreneurial dynamism, integrating the environmental, social and societal impact of its activities, in order to prepare a better and more sustainable future for future generations.

With the four technologies designed to produce decarbonated 0% clinker cements for all construction markets, Hoffman Green aims to initiate a real paradigm shift in the construction sector and prepare a better future for generations to come.

To this end, the first stage of the company’s industrial deployment consists of the construction of two new production sites, to be commissioned respectively in the second half of 2022 (site H2 in Vendée) and in the second half of 2024 (site H3 at the Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque).

This location fits perfectly into the Company’s strategic plan as it is located near a rail and river junction and offers a new maritime access that will connect with the storage silos located in the port of La Rochelle. Built entirely from Hoffmann’s clinker-free decarbonated cements, H3 will be a copy of the H2 site in Vendée and will therefore have a production capacity of 250,000 tons per year.

Since July 2022, Hoffmann Green has gained independence in the grinding of its raw materials by internalizing the processing of slag through the acquisition of the ABC Grinding Group. This will allow the company to expand its sourcing capacity and secure its margins in an inflationary context.

Cement accounts for 8% of WW CO2 emissions and we urgently need to reduce them to minimize as far as possible the effects of climate change. Solutions are already existing and Hoffmann technologies are now widely used in France. Performance-based standards and a supportive financial framework is needed to scale up the market. ALCCC members will work together to ensure the short-term availability of innovative, secure and performant low carbon cement and concrete.
